This is a seasoning we have made after receiving numerous requests! Saveloys are thought to be a British version of the Continental Cervalat Smoked Sausage that are particulary popular in Switzerland. Made by German Pork Butchers at the turn of the century they were popular additions to the lunch boxes of working men throughout the North of England and were also extremely popular in southern counties such as Essex. Our Seasoning is made to an old Yorkshire recipe and is a blend of salt, peppers, herbs and smoke flavourings. Best filled into a British Hog Casing and cooked either by gently simmering in a pan or hot smoked to give the sausage it's traditional northern smoked brown colour. For a deep southern red, fill into Collagen Red Saveloy casings. Use at 3.75%. 200gram pack. Recipe included.
