The Home Pack hog casings come as a traditional hank but for ease of use are packed as 2 x 20-metre hanks of traditionally salted 34/+mm wide casings. They are packed in a sealed vacuum-bag and will fill out roughly 20kg of sausage meat.
The Home Pack Hog Casings will produce a really fine looking Cumberland or BBQ type sausage. Hog Casings are also ideal for making Venison Sausages, Bratwurst or Boerewors!
The Home Pack Hog is an ideal Casing for beginners as they are easy to use and offer flexibility when you handle them. Perfectly suited to whatever type of mincer or stuffer you are using.
All our Natural Casings come in easy to use packs and are cured in salt before dispatch. We recommend they are stored in a sealed Tupperware type container in a fridge, where they will be fine for at least 4-6 months. Or alternatively, use one pouch and freeze the second for use at a later date. Before use, they need to have the salt rinsed from them and then soaked in warm water for at least a few hours prior to use (or overnight in cold water).
