This Saveloy seasoning is a recipe from an Old Yorkshire butcher famous for his Saveloys. It's a terrific blend that gives heaps of flavour with the traditional smokey back notes of Saveloy. Known for their bright red casing and spiced meat, this seasoning doesn't disappoint.

The seasoning is packed with spices, including mace, ginger, white pepper, garlic, and paprika.

Packed in a 500g pouch, use at a rate of 3.75% per kilo of meat.

Product Details

Saveloys are considered a British variation of the Continental Cervelat Smoked Sausage, which is especially popular in Italy and Switzerland. 

Made by German pork butchers around the turn of the century, they were common in lunch boxes of working men across northern England as well as southern counties such as Essex.

 

Our seasoning is prepared using an old Yorkshire recipe, a blend of salt, white pepper, garlic, paprika, ginger and, mace, and smoked flavouring. This results in a smoky, spiced, and well-balanced Saveloy that is not overpowering. 

 

For a deep southern red colour, fill into Viscofan Red Collagen Saveloy casings. Use the seasoning at a rate of 3.75% per kilogram of meat.  A recipe will be included with your pack.
