Whilst I am no computer geek I thought many of our visitors might be interested in this development as if you are one of the 5% of folk who still use Internet Explorer Version 6 then upgrading to version 7 or 8 is now a must. From the stats I get from my IT support the number of customers who use our site, using Internet Explorer 6, is higher than the 5% average and is nearer 8% of all users. We have also found that using version 6 distorts many websites including ours, with pictures and articles appearing up and down the page, and certainly not in the ordered way that we intended.
I have here attached some of the press comments and bulletins about version 6 and also links to upgrading your PC to one of the newer versions 7 or 8. If in any doubt or for further advice i would recommend talking to your nearest IT help. But certainly upgrading to one of the newer versions will enhance your experience of our site and other sites and give you greater security overall going forward.

''Google has announced that it will no longer support the older version of
Internet Explorer 6 (IE6) which was implicated in hacking attempts last
month; From 1 March 2010 systems such as Google Docs and Google Sites,
will not work correctly with the browser. Google has suggested that
individuals and firms upgrade to the more recent version "as soon as
possible".
This does pose problems for those companies and organisations that
continue to mandate the old version for internal processes - around 20%
of web users still use the nine-year old IE 6 browser, including many UK
government departments.''
